The 2008 Beijing Olympics took a tragic turn today when all 15 members of the Spanish men's basketball team turned up dead in their hotel room.
After an "exhaustive" 15 minute investigation, Chinese medical authorities announced that the team had been struck down by a particularly virulent strain of "gut cancer."
"It's a terrible situation," said Olympic spokesman Xi Xuang, "and we can only hope that in the future teams will be a bit more careful. Gut cancer can strike anyone at any time."
