If you're can't decide between Obama and McCain, maybe this list of the candidates' favorite songs will push you over the edge. Both men are apparently big fans of Ol' Blue Eyes, though thankfully neither lists "My Way" in the top 10.
I'll give Obama +10 cool points for liking a Springsteen song, but I'm going to have to dock him 15 for it being the unmemorable "I'm On Fire." He also gets +15 hipster points (equivalent to 1.2 cool points) for liking Nina Simone, but loses 11 megalomaniac points (equivalent to 1.8 hipster points) for being a fan of will.i.am's "Yes We Can". That's like Bob Dylan saying his favorite song is David Bowie's "Song for Bob Dylan."
It's a bit harder to determine McCain's score, because his song list looks like it was the work of two different staffers, one an 80 year old man and the other a 15 year old girl. I assume the geezer is responsible for "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" and "As Time Goes By," while the girl put in the ABBA songs. Also, -50 for liking Neil Diamond.
A few suggestions of my own:
For Obama: "Cult of Personality" by Living Color
For McCain: "Old Man," by Neil Young (sorry...it was just too easy)
